This month we are LATE with this post – but it isn’t just my fault this time!  Hahaha.

Chris took some time out of his crazy schedule of working real jobs and crushing 100 sets of back squats to answer our questions…

Immediately prior to crossfit I had a membership at Fitness World In Victoria, BC. My workout “routine” at that time consisted of running and weightlifting.

How long have you been doing crossfit and why do you choose to crossfit?

I have been crossfitting for a little over 2 years now and my fitness has improved immensely. Calling Crossfit Taranis in Victoria, BC and booking an introductory session was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Leading up to that phone call I had considered trying crossfit for a few months. I had become bored of my normal exercise routine and wanted a change. Additionally, I saw very little improvement in my performance and physique as a result of the weight lifting I had been doing for years. I wanted results!! Through crossfit I have learned that in order to see noticeable gains in physical fitness an individual needs to work hard, really hard…

What is your favorite part about crossfit?

I spent nine years in the Canadian Forces prior to my crossfitting lifestlye. After my release I missed the sense of camaraderie that I once felt in the military. I find that through crossfit I get a sense of that belonging once again. I like being surrounded by like minded individuals that are honest, sincere, witty and at times slightly intense. The community that I discovered in the box was a welcome surprise!!

What are the accomplishments you are proud of? (Crossfit or non crossfit related)

The crossfit related accomplishment that I’m most proud of is that I’ve managed to remain disciplined and focused in my training up until this point. This is in no small part due to the encouragement from the coaches and athletes at Crossfit Sudbury and Crossfit Taranis.

Favorite workout or lift?

My preferences are constantly changing…but I would have to say that at this moment my favourite lift would be the back squat.
