Hey Folks!

It’s that time again!  This month we’re recognizing someone who has been putting in hard work, achieving goals, taking the time to address limitations and then reaping the benefits from it!  All of this while being an awesome part of our community as well as the general community of Sudbury/Lively!  AND while raising two awesome kids and having lots of fun with her whole family.  Role model and a half!  For August, we’d like to congratulate…

What was your exercise experience prior to crossfit?

I have been active my whole life. I was fortunate enough to be on many teams throughout highschool, and wrestle at the collegiate level in University. After University, I was a regular “gym rat”. Very cliché, but I met my husband at the gym; he was my trainer! lol

How long have you been doing crossfit and why do you choose to crossfit?

I think I had considered Crossfit for about a year before I finally sent the email for my trail class. I would even check the WOD daily! I was looking to challenge myself and my regular routine was not giving me that anymore! Once I finally signed up, I was hooked and have been going strong for about 1 ½ years now. I felt like I had found my “home”.

What is your favorite part about crossfit?

I have so many favorite parts about Crossfit. I love that every day is different; there is never fear of being bored! I love being pushed to try new things and test my limits; I am always amazed at what I can do! The atmosphere always keeps me coming back; the coaches and athletes are amazing. I love that I feel like an athlete again.

What are the accomplishments you are proud of? (Crossfit or non crossfit related)

Crossfit related I am so proud that I can finally do a pull-up. Even when I was wrestling, a pull-up was one thing I was never able to do!

I am also proud that Crossfit has helped me to be confident in my body and what it can do. I have struggled with body image issues on and off throughout my life, and often relied too heavily on what the scale said. I am happy to say that since Crossfit, I rarely look at the scale, celebrate when my jeans are too tight (more muscle!), and am a generally happier person. I hope that I can instill this type of confidence in my children as they grow up!

Non Crossfit related I am so proud of my kids! They are active, happy and funny, I am very fortunate to be their mom!

Favorite workout or lift?

I really like the more complex lifts, like the snatch and clean and jerk. I love the way that they always challenge me no matter the weight or amount of reps! And any WOD that scares me is always good; I always feel so accomplished when I am done.

Anything else you would like to share please feel free

I would like to say thank you to the coaches and members for creating such an amazing environment; it is truly a pleasure to come in and work out with all of you! Thank You for the encouragement and support, and all of the fun!
