Hey Folks!

Family Day!  Apparently we’ve got a mild week, weather-wise, coming up.  I can say it’s welcome, though I think with the slightly warm temps it’s going to be “ugly” outside (slushy, dirty/salty, etc.) Bad news for our skiers and sledders.

The Open begins this week!  Make sure you’re signed up for intramurals!  It’s going to be fun, and a good way to make the Open a little more interesting/worth your time.  Kind of like when you bet your buddy $5 on a game.  All of a sudden you care a lot more about who wins.

We’re going to be watching the Open Reveal at the gym on Thursday night (8pm), which is conveniently right after(ish) an awesome presentation/workshop being put on by Celeste Bouffard (Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist).

THEN, on Friday, we’re doing a little “Friday night lights” action – meaning you can pick a Frenemy and challenge them to do the WOD with you on Friday night.  We’ll have folks around to judge, and will be having a generally good time – so come on out for that/sort out which time you’d like to come do it (between 5pm and 8pm).

Coaches Notes:

Work on dropping under and PUNCHING up into the bar on those Snatch Balances.  Spend the time working on the overhead position as well as the bottom of the squat to prep for this.  On the E2MOM – you should have 30-45 seconds of rest each round.  Adjust the reps or cals accordingly.  Should be a bit of a sprint, but not max effort.

Strength:

Snatch balance
4 x 2 @ 50% best snatch
*Little to no heaving :)

Conditioning – “Comp Pace & Kipping Practice”

E2MOM – 16 minutes
row 20/15 cals
5 Handstand Push ups
5 Toes to Bar
*Scale the reps as necessary to go unbroken and not make yourself too beat up
