Hey Folks!

I just wanted to write a little update about how we’re approaching things moving forward (at this point at least!) – Just so we’re all up to speed and to help provide you all with confidence in pursuing your health and fitness.  We are comfortable continuing to provide you all the service we have been in the gym, based on our cleanliness standards, the changes listed below, and the fact that our community is not one that has a lot of flux. Most of you workout with the same 5-10 people each time you attend.  If we’re all being mindful, and adhering to the standards set out to prevent the spread of this illness, you shouldn’t feel much difference spending time with your “gym family” than you do with your home family. That being said, below are the changes we’ve decided to implement based on the current recommendations:

  • You’ll notice a very serious looking “screening” page in our entrance – with the typical “Have you been out of the country?  Have you been in contact with anyone with symptoms? Have you experienced shortness of breath, fever, etc.?” This is to help prevent the spread of illness in general, but also specifically COVID-19.  Please be mindful and if you aren’t feeling well, or feel you might have been exposed, stay home until you’re certain you’re well
    • In this same vein, we’re doing away with high fives, fist bumps, or other physical contact all together for now
    • A simple “Hey!  Good work!” and a sweaty smile will have to suffice.
  • We’ve had professional cleaning services since before this whole ordeal began but we have made available lots of Lysol wipes, and disinfectant spray bottles and paper towels/towels – And we’re being diligent in making sure the facility is frequently disinfected and overly clean.
    • Your help is appreciated in this effort – Please make a point of wiping down your equipment before and after use, and clean up your sweat angels with the little mops
  • We’re going to be capping classes so as to prevent any over-crowding (which rarely, if ever happens)
    • The caps will vary depending on timing (i.e. if the kids classes are going on at the same time)
    • While you aren’t likely to be affected – it isn’t a bad idea to get the Push Press app and reserve the classes you’d like to come to (it also makes signing in easier!)  A pic of the app available in iOS and Android stores is below.
    • This will allow us to maintain the ~6 foot distance between people that is recommended.
  • A few lines below our training options, you’ll notice an “at home option” of each piece.  If for whatever reason you aren’t able to make it in, this is available to you so you can continue to follow along with our program and progressions!
    • While nothing will quite match actually being in the gym with us, you don’t need to feel like you can’t keep up – Now with ~30 minutes and about 10 square feet, you can get our at home workouts done at home.

If you’re interested in a much longer write up about other things you can do to help bolster your immune system and avoid infection/illness all together, click this link and check out the document I spent the better part of a day writing :)

As with all things, as more information becomes available you can keep an eye out for any necessary changes to these plans.

Hopefully this helps – Can’t wait to continue improving your health and fitness!

See you in the gym!
